Assistant Professor of Library and Information Studies, University of Oklahoma
I study how people discover, evaluate, and use data, and how academic libraries can design more effective instruction and services around those behaviors.
My research connects data-seeking behavior, data and AI literacy, research data stewardship, and evidence-based library practice. I also use machine learning and natural language processing to study library services at scale.
Current work
- Data-seeking behavior: Understanding how university students in the social sciences find and assess data, supported by an Institute of Museum and Library Services National Leadership Grant.
- Multiple literacies: Developing a multiple-literacy scale to strengthen academic library instructional services.
- AI and library practice: Studying AI competencies for librarians and the use of machine learning and NLP in library services.
